March 8, 2010 TRAILS ARE CLOSED as of March 8th
Bare spots now on both the Lighted Loop and the Jail House Loop make Grooming impossible. There are still nice stretches of skiable trail.
Hanson Hills will survive the melt down much better and I expect skiing on their trail system to last for another couple of weeks. There is now great crust skiing at Hanson in the AM.
NO TRAIL FEE.
FREE LIGHTED TRAIL.
CLOSED
8/10 Mile LIGHTED LOOP
CLOSED
FYI - When trails are open:
Double Set Track
Big Skating Lane
It passes through a big Cedar Swamp with lots of deer and goes over a small ridge on three occasions.
2.4 Mile JAIL-HOUSE LOOP
CLOSED
FYI - When trails are open:
Double Set Track
Big Skating Lane
This loop goes out on the Grayling Country Club and cruises by a large Cedar Swamp and the AuSable River. The Legendary Fred Bear's house sits across the river as does the County Jail-house, thus the name. This loop is relatively flat and a great place to start your skiing adventures.
Should we get enough new snow we will groom and reopen the trails.
THANK YOU FOR A FANTASTIC SKI SEASON.
In the words of Arnold 'We will be back'.
